WHY NO PLA?
PLA is often advertised as an environmentally friendly plastic because it is made from renewable resources such as cornstarch and is biodegradable.
PLA cannot be easily recycled along with traditional plastics. It requires special industrial composting facilities to be completely broken down. In traditional recycling facilities, PLA can be problematic and disrupt the recycling process.
Our ASA material is already a recycled product - it was made from waste from industrial injection molding. In contrast to PLA, ASA is particularly resistant to weather influences such as UV radiation and moisture. As a result, ASA retains its mechanical properties and color stability even after prolonged exposure to the sun.
